"Taverna Saita is one of those places that immediately makes you feel comfortable, even before the food arrives. From the moment we stepped in, the usher and waiter were welcoming and attentive, taking the time to ask where we preferred to sit and giving us space to think through the menu without any sense of rush. That kind of patience already says a lot about a place. Inside, the atmosphere is everything you’d hope for in a Greek taverna — warm, cozy, and full of character. There’s an unmistakable Greek energy in the room, the kind that feels lived-in rather than staged. It’s inviting, relaxed, and perfect for settling in and enjoying the evening properly. The food was genuinely marvellous. Every dish was rich in flavour and deeply satisfying, delivering that comforting, authentic Greek taste you don’t just want — you crave. It felt like the kitchen understands tradition and respects it, letting the ingredients speak for themselves without unnecessary embellishment. We chose the house white wine, and it turned out to be an excellent companion to the meal. Earthy, refreshing, and easy to drink, it felt honest and unpretentious — exactly what a good taverna wine should be. What really ties the experience together is the service. The waitressing was impressive throughout — attentive, efficient, and genuinely warm without being overbearing. You feel looked after, not managed. Taverna Saita isn’t just a good place to eat — it’s the kind of taverna you remember and recommend without hesitation. One of the best Greek tavernas in Athens, and a place I’d happily return to."

"I came here for lunch with a group of friends as we were looking for a traditional Greek dish place, and it did not disappoint! Amazing food, fast service, and very good outside atmosphere. Our server was very sweet and even gave us ice cream as a treat. Definitely recommend the eggplant from the oven, fried cheese, and special souvlaki."

"Was a little nervous when I went into the downstairs but it had been recommended to me by a local. The salad looked normal but the flavors were exceptional! Was really savoring every bite of the salad with Parmesan and fig… so tasty! Wine was superb too!"

"We were recommended Taberna Saita from a Greek friend and this place did NOT disappoint. The meatballs and eggplant “from the oven” were both crafted with simple ingredients yet full of flavor. The service was impeccable; our waiter offered alternatives to a dish that wasn’t available and then returned to report the originally requested dish was available after all. That is good service when I would have never known otherwise. We would wholeheartedly recommend this spot to friends and visitors alike!"

"Very nice place to eat. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Feels authentic. They know how to cook in Greece. Reasonably priced. Greek salad is so simple, but so flavoursome. On a different note: tomatoes in Greece taste exceptionally good. I don't know how they grow them, but the taste and the smell is nothing like i have tasted before."

"Quite popular & famous taverna in Plaka. We found the place through Google reviews. When we came there were no many people, but after 18.30 almost all tables were full. Most of the patrons were foreigners. We have ordered grilled shrimps, lamb souvlaki, spaghetti and saita salad. All the meals were great. Prices are good and a bit lower than restaurants. Half liter of house wine was only 5 eur. The ice cream given at the end the meal was a good gesture. And it was definitely worth the visit. Would definitely recommend the place."
